Cardiac centre, Pasig — 340 openings, NFPA 701 throughout

A cardiac specialty centre completing its fit-out needed window coverings that would pass the fire safety inspection preceding occupancy and survive a daily disinfectant wipe-down. The original tender package specified a pleated fabric shade, which infection control rejected because the cells cannot be wiped through. Four floors were already occupied, so installation had to proceed behind infection-control barriers.

Scope of work

PVC-coated fibreglass rollers in Alabaster and Charcoal, certified to NFPA 701 with test certificates supplied per dye lot and referenced to the room schedule for the as-built submittal. Cordless spring-assist units in paediatric cardiology and all unattended patient areas. Split sunscreen pairs in ground-floor consulting rooms for eye-level privacy without losing daylight. Every opening measured on site — fourteen reveals differed from the construction drawings. Imaging suites and outpatient clinics installed overnight; work stopped adjacent to the catheterisation labs during procedures.

Our original tender package specified a pleated shade that our infection-control lead would have rejected at handover. Casa Verde flagged it during the site walk, explained that the cells cannot be wiped through, and quoted a coated fibreglass alternative with the NFPA 701 certificates already matched to dye lots and the room schedule. That paperwork went straight into the as-built submittal and our fire inspection passed without a single query on window coverings. They also worked around the cath labs without being asked twice.
