Wood Blinds
Basswood is the right timber for blinds: dense enough to stay straight at 50 mm, light enough not to strain the ladder. We kiln-dry to 8% moisture content before machining, which is what stops the cupping that ruins cheaper wood blinds in this climate, and lacquer all four faces so humidity cannot get in through an unsealed edge.
